THE FIVE-YEAR ENGAGEMENT (B+)

Bottom Line: This heartfelt, charming, offbeat and funny tale of a couple on-and-off the brink of wedded bliss never fails to entertain. Although running a tad long, it still remains an easily digestible, post rom-com (they’re already engaged, silly) that sails smoothly along on a sharp script and glowing chemistry between its two leads. Save the date, indeed.

Starring: Jason Segel, Emily Blunt, Chris Pratt, Alison Brie and Rhys Ifans
Directed by: Nicholas Stoller (FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL and GET HIM TO THE GREEK)
Rated: R
Running time: 124 minutes
Story: Beginning where most romantic comedies end, The Five-Year Engagement looks at what happens when an engaged couple keeps getting tripped up on the long walk down the aisle. (Universal Pictures)
