EDDIE THE EAGLE (B+)

Wrapping audiences up in its warm blanket of nostalgic, underdog perseverance – EDDIE THE EAGLE is a fluffy, friendly, feel-good flick for the entire family!  A simple, positivity-driven, light-hearted sports anthem delight…  In addition to its wonderfully captured, rock steady, late 80’s roots – both Jackman and Egerton shine with crowd-pleasing chemistry and goofily charming charisma.  As it happens in many sports films, this is all a tad formulaic and it does contain its fair share of easy-to-see-coming, bunny slope predictability – this is all a breeze to overlook, however, when you’re having this much fun.  Inspirationally entertaining to its core, EDDIE THE EAGLE is a movie that truly soars!
