Bottom Line: Big, bold and brilliantly executed for maximum summertime cinema fun,
this third installment is the best of the iron-clad bunch and almost stands
toe-to-toe with the high-flying, dysfunctionally charged fun of THE
AVENGERS. Almost… Much darker than its predecessors (it never reaches the depths of the recent
Batman movies and I’d still wait a year or two before taking my 8- and 6-year old
boys), it still offers a multitude of silver linings in the form of
thrilling action sequences, exciting twists and – as expected – charismatically
buoyant performances from its A-list cast (especially
Downey Jr; as expected and anticipated).
There are a lot of moving parts here and a smattering of negative (read: boring) critics have their
ill-thought complaints – but ignore all that and enjoy this flick for what it
is… With a second-wind nature that I was
hopeful for but never fully expected, IRON MAN 3 is a witty, wild and wickedly
entertaining 3D-worthy spectacle that delivers the heavy metal goods!

Story: Marvel's "Iron Man 3" pits
brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose
reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his
enemy's hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This
journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall,
Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and
instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark
discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the
man make the suit or does the suit make the man? (c) Disney
