MEN IN BLACK 3 (C+)

Bottom Line: Not as good as the first and galaxies less convoluted than the second, what MEN IN BLACK 3 lacks in freshness it almost….ALMOST…makes up for in nostalgic fun. Big Will hams it up, Tommy Lee dours it down and Josh Brolin – as a 1960’s version of Agent K (Jones) – delivers a spot-on performance in this light-hearted, goofily fun and yet still unremarkable and unmemorable, time-traveling, sci-fi comedy. Not sure who demanded another sequel 15 years after the fact, but MIB3 is a perfectly fine movie to catch as a matinee…assuming you’ve already seen THE AVENGERS twice.

Starring: Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin, Jermaine Clement and Emma Thompson
Directed by: Barry Sonnenfeld (MEN IN BLACK I-II, GET SHORTY and WILD WILD WEST)
Rated: PG-13
Running time: 113 minutes
Story: In Men in Black 3, Agents J and K are back... in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K's life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him -- secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind.
