Bottom Line: Landing somewhere squarely between the unique hilarity of BORAT and the misguided nastiness of BRUNO, Sacha Baron Cohen’s latest effort is a minimal series of gut-busting laughs strung together by the thinnest of political satire story lines. It’s comedically crude, shocking and offensive – but also cinematically flat, forced and flawed. You may find yourself sporadically laughing, but this DICTATOR is not fit to rule.

Starring: Sacha Baron Cohen, Anna Faris and Ben Kingsley
Directed by: Larry Charles (BORAT, BRUNO and select episodes of SEINFELD)
Rated: R
Running time: 83 minutes
Story: The film tells the heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed. It is inspired by the bestselling novel "Zabibah and The King" by Saddam Hussein. (Paramount Pictures)
