127 HOURS (A)

Starring: James Franco

Directed by: Danny Boyle (won multiple Oscars in 2008 for SLUDOG MILLIONAIRE)

Story: 127 HOURS is the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston's remarkable adventure to save himself after a fallen boulder crashes on his arm and traps him in an isolate canyon in Utah. (Fox Searchlight)

Rated: R

Bottom Line: This story of a man who’s literally trapped between a rock and hard place is a colorful, energetic, elegant, enthralling, moving and non-gratuitously cringe-worthy epic about the power of the human spirit. It’s also one of the best movies I’ve seen all year. The direction by Danny Boyle (SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE) and acting from James Franco (PINEAPPLE EXPRESS and SPIDERMAN 1-3) is the kind of stuff Oscar legends are made of… It’s not a question of how many nominations it’ll get - but rather how many it will win.
