Bottom Line: Not being a reader of
those pieces of paper with words on ‘em and then the papers are all bound
togeth – books, that’s right. Not being
a reader of the immensely popular books, I still find myself getting wrapped up
in the compelling story of Team Katniss.
These, thus far, are a series of well made movies that rightfully excite
crowds worldwide. …And despite my solid
grade and full recommendation to go see it – my wife continues to press as to
why I didn’t like it… To her, a fervent fan
of the books and movies (a proud member
of The Hunger Dames if you will), handing
out anything lower than an A+ is just plain crazy. They’re good, but they’re not THAT good… This installment, however, does benefit from
a severely elevated budget that was put to good use in terms of not making it
look, like part one, a made-for-TV-movie.
CATCHING FIRE is a smart, well-crafted and immensely watchable action
adventure drama. Yes, you may never get
a strong emotional connection to the characters if you’ve never read those book
things, and you may feel like an abundance of time is wasted on parades,
pageants and US Magazine-like ‘Who Wore it Best’ fashion show for dresses (let’s call it gown porn)… Minor flaws aside, this will easily satiate
your appetite for entertainment. It’s epic
in scope, intriguing in story and will leave you excitedly hungry for bigger
things to come… The odds are ever in
your favor that you’ll have a great time!

CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning
the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning
means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends,
embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts. Along the way
Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very
much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The
Quarter Quell) - a competition that could

Nice review Brian. The story is going to continue to get more and more emotional, making me just a bit more excited for what's next to come.
Right there with you... Still a cheesiness factor looming with each one (especially all the stuff with Peeta), but still worth the price of admission.
