SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK (A)

Bottom Line: A romantic comedy that far exceeds the grasp of any Kate Hudson or Katherine Heigl led piece of tripe. With its phenomenal acting, intriguing story, tight script and mass appeal to both men and women – I’d say this is one of those rare times where a movie of this nature is a lock for an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Robert DeNiro deliver the acting goods and are all pretty much assured nominations as well (maybe Cooper, probably DeNiro and especially Lawrence who I can see taking home the Best Actress prize). With its mental illness angle firmly yet delicately in place, were given an intriguing, hopeful, funny, touching, redemptive, unique and completely offbeat story of finding love in the hearts of those you’d least expect. Score a touchdown with your significant other tonight and take in the neurotic and poetic SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK!
