Story: Sidney Prescott, now the author of a self-help book, returns home to Woodsboro on the last stop of her book tour. There she reconnects with Sheriff Dewey and Gale, who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill and her Aunt Kate. Unfortunately, Sidney's appearance also brings about the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, along with Jill, her friends, and the whole town of Woodsboro in danger. Bottom Line: SCREAM 4 adequately mocks and embraces the horror genre all at the same time. It’s a little cheesy and too self-referential for its own good (which is the idea; although I’m not sure they intended to be as over-the-top as it is) – but it mostly knows how to maintain the suspense, occasionally entertain and, heaven forbid, be a watchable movie. It won’t bring back much life to a dilapidated genre – but it works. If you’re a fan of the series carve out a little time this weekend – you won’t be disappointed.

I saw this. The only thing that bombed for this movie, IMO, was the end. I think it went on a little too long. The gore was more than ever before. The scare factor was too similar to the original. And let's not forget that the previews gave a little too much away.
I can't say that I'd disagree with your B- for the grade.
