Directed by: Todd Phillips (THE HANGOVER and OLD SCHOOL)
Story: Peter Highman is an expectant first-time father whose wife's due date is a mere five days away. As Peter hurries to catch a flight home from Atlanta to be at her side for the birth, his best intentions go completely awry when a chance encounter with aspiring actor Ethan Tremblay forces Peter to hitch a ride with Ethan--on what turns out to be a cross-country road trip that will ultimately destroy several cars, numerous friendships and Peter's last nerve. (Warner Bros. Pictures)
Rated: R
Bottom Line: The actors are solid and their chemistry shines but this is not what I was hoping for – a sporadically written and edited, sometimes slow and occasionally funny wannabe mainstream, road trip flick with an out-of-place river of mean running through the middle. If you’re expecting THE HANGOVER type laughs – DUE DATE won’t quite deliver.
