Story: Sara and Brian Fitzgerald's life with their young son and their two-year-old daughter, Kate, is forever altered when they learn that Kate has leukemia. The parents' only hope is to conceive another child, specifically intended to save Kate's life. For some, such genetic engineering would raise both moral and ethical questions; for the Fitzgeralds, Sara in particular, there is no choice but to do whatever it takes to keep Kate alive. And what it takes is Anna. (New Line Cinema)
Rated: PG-13
Bottom line: MY SISTER’S WEEPER! I might have enjoyed it a bit more if it weren’t for my damn (*sniff*) allergies – must have been a cat in the theater… It’s a decently crafted and well acted movie with a very heavy made-for-Lifetime-Channel vibe. All over the map emotionally this heavy-handed and melodramatic movie screams ‘take your close female friend or mother and leave your husband or boyfriend at home’. Ladies, be sure and bring some Kleenex and guys…enjoy the giant, talking robot movie.
